(1) my ip address: 192.168.186.129. I have this address because I switched to wireshark to as to enable me gather traffic on wireshark PACKET 1: After capturing traffics on wireshark, we identified the first packet (No.3198) which uses the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP). i) Yes, the packet source is my computer because the source IP address match with that of my computer IP (i.e. 192.168.186.129). ii) No, the packet destination is not mine because the destination IP address is 108.156.202.181. iii) The network protocol in use is TCP because it is part of the information displayed on wireshark output. iiii) It is a SEQ/ACK operation which signifies data sent within a session by a TCP user and acknowledged by a server with an ACK response. PACKET 2: After capturing traffics on wireshark, we identified the second packet (No.2270) which uses the QUIC protocol. i) No, the packet source is not my computer because the source IP address is 157.240.28.16 ii) Yes, the packet destination is mine because the destination IP address (192.168.186.129) corresponds to mine. iii) The network protocol in use is QUIC because it is part of the information displayed on wireshark output. iiii) It was used to protect and transport payload (90 bytes) using UDP internet connection according to the message on wireshark. PACKET 3: After capturing traffics on wireshark, we identified the third packet (No.2061) which uses the Transport Layer Protocol version 1.3 (TLSv1.3). i) No, the packet source is not my computer because the source IP address is 18.160.143.180 ii) Yes, the packet destination is mine because the destination IP address is 192.168.186.129 which is equal to mine. iii) The network protocol in use is TLSv1.3 because it is in the packet details. iiii) According to the information pane, it is used to encrypt application data over HHTPS. (2) After using the filter expression on my wireless card, the number of packets reduced. i) Yes, there was alot of packets with destination IP matching my computer IP aadress. This means my computer is receiving traffics from other unknow sources. ii) Yes, there were lots of source IP & MAC addresses(00:0c:29:82:fb:1c) that matches mine which means that my computer is sending out or requesting for information on the network. (3) The filter helps in sorting my computer IP address into either the Source IP or Destination IP depending on the filter query.
