Hi, My name is Leo Jacoby and I’d love to work with you at Rainbow this summer. I am a current Sophomore at Stanford studying Symbolic Systems (https://symsys.stanford.edu/). My favorite problems are ones that require me to empathize with users and design a product tailored to their conscious and subconscious needs. Rainbow excites me because you are building an intuitive user experience to onboard the next wave of users to web3. I believe user friction is the biggest pain point in web3, and I want to join the team at the frontier of the solution. Last summer, I worked for Metagame, an earned NFT project. During my time, I helped build evm-translator (https://www.npmjs.com/package/evm-translator), an npm package that converts ethereum data to human-readable descriptions. This gave me a more in-depth understanding of the EVM, specific contract types, and how to parse transaction data. We used this tool to build Logbook, a personalized NFT displaying your wallet’s transactions. For this mint, I built a “mint with signature” flow that checked if a user was on our allowlist, signed their address, and validated the signature on the smart contract (https://etherscan.io/address/0xb2f798cf3e79ef1e2906f16a692d58da8d7ad268#code) before minting. I also designed and built the mint page (https://logbook.themetagame.xyz/), using RainbowKit, wagmi, and ethers. Additionally, I built an earned NFT exclusively mintable by Nomad whitehat hackers that validated their status using evm-translator and employed a similar mint with signature flow. Lastly, I wrote blog posts (https://t.co/0JjPgisroC?ssr=true) to help demystify aspects of the NFT landscape. As a full-time product designer and engineer at sidelineHD (https://home.sidelinehd.com/) over my gap year two years ago, I used analytics and conducted user interviews to guide the design of our website and proprietary scoring app. I also designed our landing page and ran our email marketing campaign that helped us grow from under 50 teams to over 500 during my time there. This work taught me how to create intuitive user experiences and drive certain behaviors via design. Rainbow’s emphasis on effortless user experiences shines through the product. Navigating web3 is not easy, but Rainbow is doing as good a job as anyone making these flows less intimidating and more joyful. Through design and engineering, I would love the opportunity to continue to make your product as frictionless as possible as you add new features and target new audiences. I’m aware that was a broad role description! I’d greatly appreciate the opportunity to chat with you all and understand what par t(s) of my skill set would add the most value to your organization. This week, I’m available Wednesday 12:30 - 6pm PST and Friday 9 - 12pm PST . I can also provide more times if those are inconvenient. I’ve attached my resume for reference. Thanks! Best, Leo
