Chapter Three

A voice rings from your head, the constant pleading of a booming voice repeatedly saying “It’s not your fault”, “you need to learn, the truth about the world”

You wake up on the floor, sweating, your mind foggy from a seeming nightmare, but this nightmare was real. You look around after noticing something start to crush you, you are under rubble and the ground is starting to rumble, you desperately try to find your way out of the rubble, but you can’t seem to find a way out.

A voice booms inside your head again, “you need to find me, you need to know what has happened countless times,” “it is your fault”. You can’t escape the voice, it is as if it is driving you insane, you are being forced to relive the same nightmare, over and over again for hours on end.

“You are close to learning, it is my turn to help”, you begin to feel the rubble loosen and begin to see the sky, but as the rubble clears, you notice the sky is abnormal, it’s not blue, it’s a bright orange all across the sky. The rubble clears, and you finally stand up and look around for your saviour, but you don’t see anyone within sight, “if you are looking for me, I am behind you” a voice strangely familiar says behind you, you turn around and see a dark figure with a mask covering its face, “wait I kno-" “not exactly, I’m not who you have seen before” the black figure but’s in, “I’m sure you have a lot of questions, so come with me,” the black figure grabs your hand and pulls you along with it.

Looking around, you see, nothing but destruction and chaos, but somehow still seems very familiar to you.

“It looks familiar because you’ve been here before, more specifically been here many times, but that’s beside the point” the figure stops and turns to you and says, “you need to face the truth,” “what do you mean the tr-“ the black figure shushes you and begins to take off its mask revealing a face you have seen before, “but I saw you at the snow-“, “not exactly, let me explain, what you saw was me, but from a different universe and time in this same location, where you are now is in the original world, well, I guess that’s the truth, but it’s also a lie as it is no longer what it used to be” she looks up and stares blankly into your eyes and defeatedly says, “before you destroyed it.”

You blankly stare back as the silence slowly lengthens as you begin to slowly process what this strange catgirl has said to you, “you mean, I, did all this?” “Yes, not only did you do all this, but your subconscious is also hiding the truth to what you have done” she stays quiet for a while then walks over to you, “LOOK AT WHAT YOU’VE DONE” she yells at you as she hits you hard on the head with her fist knocking you out. You hear a faint voice echoing in your head, “you need to stop blocking everything out, or it will destroy you too.”

As your head rings from pain you slowly open your eyes as you lay uncomfortably on the harsh surface of all the debris, “get up” you hear as someone forcefully grabs you and pulls you up onto your feet, “have you not noticed you haven’t seen a single human since leaving the military research lab? Look around you,” in a daze you begin to look around, and see nothing but destruction, and dead bodies, some of them seemingly popping in and out of existence, “you realise this is your doing? Some of these exist, some of them don’t, you control what you want reality to be, in other words, you manipulate reality, however, the deaths you have caused are beyond real, even if you do remove them.”

You stare blankly at your surroundings trying to process it all in, except you are unable to. “Nyala calm down, you’re starting to-“ “How do you know my name, I never said it to you” you begin to start panicking and everything around you begins to stop making sense “Nyal- Just trust me, I’m here to help yo-“ you violently push her onto the floor and step back, “n-none of this makes sense, I can’t handle it, I” your surroundings begin to glow with a deep orange as the debris slowly begin to float to the sky defying gravity, “I guess there is no helping it now” she slowly gets up and stares at you, “I need to neutralise this issue before it gets out of hand, it’s for your own good, and the many other worlds” she quickly dashes into you with red eyes knocking you over.

“I-“ you slowly begin to get up as rage begins to fill your body and desperation fills the air, “I- I-m, going to kill you!”
