I'm just gonna jump straight into it but here are my general tips and lil things I learned so far in my tranny makeup journey (this is going to be incredibly long and potentially poorly worded) Concealer+foundation: Get concealer a shade lighter than your actually skin color, get foundation to be as accurate as you can (make sure the concealer shade you have is at least brighter than it) Put concealer over any dark beard shadow you have (mustache area, around the jawline etc) And put it on the nose (not the sides of the nose, just the bridge) and then over the unibrow area on the tip of the chin and over eyebags. do not under any circumstances put concealer on the temples of your face or high up on the cheekbone, and don't try to give yourself foxier or lifted eyes with concealer either I've noticed it just makes the face look more angular and masculine and especially makes your eyes look much smaller which cis women can get away with it but I noticed I just can't Putting concealer on the fullest part of your cheeks and slightly closer to the center of the face I've noticed highlights it in a much more feminine way than most women do, who usually try to make the face look less full (cringe) also if you want your base to be a bit better you can prime yourself with setting spray actually it helps things go on smoother, it's honestly better at that than even setting anything Contouring: This is incredibly important especially for people with more angular faces but don't go too heavy or dark or especially too warm with it, make sure it's subtle but dark enough to work with (do not be like me with a giant dark reddish brown line on your face please god) and be sure to NEVER EVER HOLY FUCK Do that thing some influencers do where they swipe dramatically in a straight line down from the lower temple to the side of the lip, you will look like an anorexic hon. A better way is to make a crescent moon shape around the cheek to make the temples look smaller and the cheeks more circular and full, and don't do it too high make sure its a bit lower on the face as well, and when applying it do it in a stippling/bouncing motion so you don't disturb any foundation you have on and so you get less fallout and more control over how you place it, it will usually be less streaky and more consistent if you do it this way (swiping contour on might work with the lightest fluffiest brush ever but I just avoid it) also putting a tad under the lip so it appears fuller is a great idea too, if you overline the lips just use concealer to reshape it, it gives a more heart look to the lips if you do this anyway I personally wouldn't suggest putting any contour over the sides of the nose since it looks pretty jarring most of the time but if you can get it to work A+ to you Putting it around the jaw is tricky for the same reason but if you do this I suggest making a line from the crescent moon shape we did before down to the jaw and make it subtle, don't go too hard with it or you might just look like a drag queen, I also have tranny bangs so I don't even bother putting any around my forehead Highlighter: I am very subtle with this as well since It can be super over the top really easily but I place a tiny bit under and over brow area and a small bit on the tip of my nose and the unibrow area, it takes attention away from the prominence of the bridge and makes it a little bit more button appearing rather than enormous and honish, and makes the browbone look less gargantuan by a tad too but we're minmaxing our perfection to not get clocked here so everything counts Mascara: Instantly first tip is to make sure to put eyeshadow on first before mascara because any fallout from your brush will fall onto your lashes and make them not great And second tip is to curl your lashes before applying, don't do it too hard or you'll rip your lashes out but just a tad of a lift will make applying this next part much easier (also important but make sure to get a decent applicator for the mascara because too thick of one will make you have big ugly spider leg looking lashes, instead of fluffier bigger looking ones) first tip right away is to get the thin applicator you have and put into the bed of your lashes, and curl it and shift it left to right, DO NOT GO UP WITH THE APPLICATOR YET. Our goal here is to get the root of the lashes thick and coated but the tips having nothing on them, this will prevent them from sticking and clumping together. once you get this part done, you can very lightly brush up in a rolling motion over the lashes to coat the ends a bit but if you over do this you'll just end up looking like a bit of a drag queen so I usually go light here Eyeshadow: This is giga giga giga important so please when doing eyeshadow you can easily make the eyes look deeper set and smaller by using the wrong colors and putting them in the wrong places, like I'd really avoid putting any really dark colors at all on the eyelid or in the waterline or the innercorner of the eye, I'd use dark shadows around the eyesocket and make the center/lid the highlight (for example, how I used to shittily do it vs now: https://i.imgur.com/d5tCXYp.png) You can see I put brighter shimmers over the lid and put dark shadows around that, so it contrasts against the shitty bones its deepset into which will make it pop significantly more, learning color theory helps you figure this out especially (for example if doing something colorful, putting orange over the lid and yellow around it would work since orange is a darker color than yellow and dark yellow looks ugly as shit so why would you ever use it) also when applying the darker color make sure to blend it out gently with a blending brush using a lighter color (blending out the orange with a yellow shade would work for example) or if its a more natural color like brown just blend it out with a clean brush with no shadow on it, dont blend it with the brush you used to apply it with (if you dont do this you will accidentally blend your eyeshadow to be way bigger than intended almost every time) Eyeliner: Most em tee efs are going to have more hooded eyes so you should get used to doing eyeliner in more of a zigzag pattern so it actually looks normal regardless if you have your eyes closed or not (example: https://i.imgur.com/yBOp52l.png) this is honestly just practice practice practice and learning what works and what doesn't with your eyeshape so I can't offer much help here I am so sorry 🙏 I've been doing makeup since before even coming out (faggot moment) so I've got around 5yrs of experience and I can tell you unfortunately watching or reading guides will only help you so much and practicing the absolute fuck at it is the only proficient way to really get better, and I mean like practice a lot a lot I did a full face of makeup every single day for about a year straight even when I wasn't going out anywhere or I'd wear a mask so no one could see how garbage it looked, and then started just doing light makeup every day and now I try and do it once or twice a week when I just go out, it wastes so much product though so that's kind of a shitty result of this but you eventually muscle memory the general idea and I can do fairly decent light makeup in like 10-15 minutes now Also giga important but please get a good mirror and good lighting so you can actually see what you're doing poorly blended stuff looks so god awful up close and IRL even if it doesn't show in photos or from far away in a dark room (I used to do this since I hated looking at myself) I really hope this helped at all fr :]]!! If I missed anything I can probably go over it in the comments
