Alright, here we have Herodes being played on the Nintendo Switch, courtesy of the publisher. This is a pretty cool little shmup. So you play as a ship captain that has to navigate patients' bodies and take out the viruses that have inhabited their body parts. Kind of cool little premise. So we're at health condition, you can check the health condition of various body parts. You can upgrade your ship. So you collect genomas as you defeat enemies and get through the stages. And you use that to unlock various aspects of your ship or upgrade your ship's abilities. So I'm going to upgrade the damage. Oh, I guess I can't. Never mind. I can upgrade the... nothing. Actually, I can't upgrade anything right now. I only have 35,000. Okay. And then you can pick which body part you want to go into. And the infection level is right there in the top left hand corner. I presume that to mean that that not only tells you the condition of that particular body part, but I think it also indicates potentially the difficulty of the stage. Let's go ahead and do the stomach. You have the A button to fire your primary weapon. You can hold the ZL or ZR buttons to shoot behind you. You can use the L and R buttons to swap your ability. Use your ability with the... Oh, of course it died. Um, use the ability with the, uh, with the X button. I believe it's the, oh, I'll it's going to be the X button. The B button is your dash. You get a couple lives you can see before you're dead. But you have infinite continues, which is nice. Well, infinite lives, you can restart the level I guess. Would be the best way to put it. So I do like the overall artistic take on this game. I like the pixel style graphics. Fits the game pretty nicely. It kinda has like a pixel slash flash animation style to it. With the way the ship is and the way some of the enemies are portrayed. They look pretty cool, I like the mixture. Overall it's a decent game, it's a difficult game though, I will say that. Don't let the lack of enemies here fool you, the game does get pretty difficult. At times, and the difficulty does seem to be a little bit random. We have sections where it seems pretty difficult, and we have other sections where it'll seem a lot more relaxed. I think I might have to upgrade my ship before I come through here. Yeah, I think I'm going to. I'll try it one more time. At the end of each stage you have a boss. Each boss has a pattern. The patterns, once you memorize the pattern, it's pretty easy to take them down. So that's nice. They have a discernable pattern. And when you lose your life, your special does become, or it does reset. It has a Y button to use your ability, I initially thought it was an X. You can use the dash ability to get through enemies to kill them, or you can get through obstacles like that. It definitely can be handy to use that ability. Overall the game is pretty good. The game is decent, it's got a nice amount of challenge to it. Again, the difficulty spike does, the difficulty fluctuating does discourage it a little bit, but not enough to make it a playable It's definitely a great experience and what I definitely would recommend if you're a shmup fan Pretty awesome game And definitely one I would recommend checking out All right. Well, I'm gonna end the review here guys. I want to thank you for watching I would definitely recommend checking it out.
