Here is my Top 20 Bingo Players list. This is a subjective list that combines how I interpret and see their playstyle, mentalty, strategy, versatility, while still considering and focusing on results. I view results proportionally depending on the level of play that was required to be successful at the time. 1.) Rimato I don't think there's any debate here. Any list that doesn't have Rimato first has some explaining to do. He was the undisputed champ for many years, with amazing skill and talent at routing all types of bingo (RC being his speciality). There's not a lot to say, I think his results and legacy speaks for itself. 2.) JJsrl I don't think anyone is too surprised by JJ being second on this list, but I will up the anti and drop a spicy take- while definitively weaker than Rimato, I believe he is closer to Rimato than most people will give him credit for. What JJ did is bring a new game strategy to Bingo, which was doing routes and plays that were completely unexpected and unseen. Now, the biggest argument against this is that it often relied on luck and/or his insane gameplay speed. And I think first and foremost it wouldn't have worked against Rimato. He is a deserved 2nd place, but there's timelines where he could've been the king. 3.) Danieru I think putting Dani over Paperario is probably my next hottest take here. My main rationale for this is that I have always been impressed by Dani's wins more than I was for Papers. Dani, at his best, basically was a second Rimato. I've seen him absolutely dominate some Row Controls before. I think save for invasion, he was very well balanced at formats, and his gameplay and consistency was always sharp. I think the biggest downside to his play was his routes were a bit predictable and safe, but it worked well for him against 90% of players. 4.) Paperario Paper is a pretty safe choice for #4. Kind of like with Rimato, I don't think there's a lot that could be really said besides "he's cracked". What lowers him as a player for me is that he kind of just lost his passion and drive for Bingo after the Lockout Tournament in 2020. He played Season 1 in the league and didn't take it all that seriously, which is fair, as there were definitely a few players overwhelmed by the league format, and forfeitted a match that he was literally ahead to winning to. Mainly out of respect for the pre-league and just how much of a force he used to be, I will give him the respect of putting him #4. 5.) Mike I think to some people this may seem like a super high placement. There was a time where he was considered one of the best routers, hindered by his gameplay. I have the personal experience of having a BO3 with him in Season 2 where he was an absolute monster against me. He made ridiculous calls and it's some of the best routing I've ever seen- so good that when I lost I wasn't even a tiny bit mad, because I geniunely felt I got outplayed. Due to the infamy of SMS happenings, these matches got buried to time, but I think if it things didn't play out as they did within the community, me and his BO3 would be viewed as one of the best sets of all time. Ultimately, his gameplay completely held him back, but I think there's a very strong argument that could be made for him being the best router at his peak. 6.) Embouchure Embo is the winner of two league seasons, which is hard to ignore, even though most people would agree that Season 4 and Season 5 weren't as competitive as the first three seasons. In general though I don't rank him highly off of his wins but because of his really impressive play- he is very consistent, knows lots of weird tricks due to his category extension knoweldge, and I think he has the best delay skill possibly of all time. He's a tough one to play against, but I think he loses against the Top 4 here most days of the week still. 7.) Larvitar Larvi is probably the smartest invasion router and the second or third best draft router. He is an incredibly smart guy and great at routing, whenever he makes a mistake usually he knows it was a bad play ahead of time. I think the only thing that held him back was his gameplay, which he and I likely would handshake on. He made it pretty far in the first two seasons of the league, which is hard to discount. It's interesting because I think he's arguably a better player than Mike, and Embo, but just seemed to take losses against them. 8.) Jeff Since this is myself, I'm not gonna sit here and write a bunch of positives, but I will say I think I am a better player than given credit for on average. My league I was not that happy with, but I feel since returning in 2023 I have been very strong, and if this player was back up against some of my past foes, history would treat my name a bit differently. I hope I can prove that one day. Biggest argument against me was that nerves/tilt would cause me to lose quite a few matches. 9.) Pogonateur I don't personally have a lot to say about Pogo, but I do have great respect for him as a player and think he has a very well balanced skillset. I did not witness what people would probably consider to be his peak, so I must admit this placement is done primarily out of respect. I think as a result you can probably argue for him to be higher on this list and I wouldn't disagree, so consider him a "move around" on this list if you would wish to. 10.) Samura1man I personally was never overly convinced by some of his wins, but the facts are that he put up a good fight against most people in Division 1, especially in Season 2, even getting a win against Rimato. He's obviously very fast and consistent, and I think what helped him out the most was the fact that I never really saw him struggle with nerves. When he had a good play to do, he would execute it, and never gave up in his bingo matches. 11.) Briguy I think this is my next take that will make people mad, putting BriGuy this low. I'll be honest, and I mean this with deep respect to Bri and his legacy, but I think at least in the time I was active, I felt he did not have the best matches. Obviously though, he deserves respect for his amazing routing skill that he had and still has, and is an extremely smart guy. But as players got faster, bingo I felt just...eclipsed him as a player, and people know this about me that I very much value gameplay when I look at a bingo player, so that's something I cannot ignore. I feel bad pointing out the negatives, but it is only to justify why I'd place an sms bingo legend this low, because to most, it is a pretty spicy take. 12.) SM27 Here's the thing. I want to put him higher. I want to say he is up there with JJ and Rimato. So, very much so. But with almost no playtime compared to others, it just feels disingenious to say he was a bingo legend. He could've been though. He brought something new to bingo that really hadn't been brought before and hasn't been since (I try though lmao), which is optimizing routes, and developing new strats and practicing, treating bingo like a speedrun and a place to develop a meta. He was a glimmer of hope, and had the most potential out of anyone I think on this list, but I just can't justify putting him very high. 13.) Despin It's tough to dispute that winning a BO3 against Rimato is extremely impressive, and as a whole I've always been wowed by him as a player, whether that be Bingo, ILs or Speedruns. Bingo he adapted to decently, but sort of like SM27, only doing 2 seasons really doesn't give us with enough to work with in terms of judging what he could've been, with Season 4 I remember being a bit more on the lackluster side. I think there's a path where he became the next top bingo player though. 14.) Peaches Peaches moved up very quick throughout Divs 2 and 3, but unfortunately once he got to Div 1 things were pretty tough I think. Season 4 he had a pretty good showing that season, and I think generally speaking he has gameplay and routing chops, but it kind of just comes down to "other people are better" in the end. The biggest thing that I think held him back was just the fact that he joined so late. With having an actual life and joining after many of us, he was kind of behind the ball, and wasn't able to catch up. 15.) Mason Mason has a lot of potential as a player that I think one day will possibly be reached. He has a drive to do well and is very sportsmanlike, gives 100% to each and every game. I think what it comes down to is just not having the time to practice and get faster. His sort of commitment and passion would go a long way if he was faster though. Players from here that I'll rank but don't find it easy to type explanations from here: 16.) Dex 17.) Deathline 18.) Rasmus 19.) PK 20.) Yhatoh
