**20 Media Practitioner Participates in AI and Journalism Training Course** KUCHING, January 7 – The Malaysia Press Institute (MPI) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) jointly organized a two-day training course at Raia Hotel, aimed at enhancing media professionals' understanding and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The course, titled "Artificial Intelligence: Empowering Journalists in Content Creation and News Editing Management," saw the participation of 20 media practitioners. Among the invited speakers was Cletus de Rozario, the Director of Training and Development at the Centre of BioMedical Technology Integrated (CBMTI) and an education and technology expert at The London Centre for Corporate Learning (LCCL). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA in Digital Transformation. With rich teaching experience in areas such as data analytics, AI, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things (IoT), he shared multiple topics related to AI, including its basic principles, how AI learns and trains, and the concept of Prompt Engineering. Additionally, the course featured insights from Mohd Safik, the Deputy Head of Criminal Investigation in Sarawak, who discussed the current trends in cybercrime. He provided valuable advice on how media practitioners can effectively report on and respond to cybercrime issues.
