Ukraine Explanation
🧩 Syntax:
I may need to develop a timeline to explain the war to /ptg/ so that everyone is on the same page as to the numerous causes of this conflict:
1. In 2004, the "Orange Revolution," removed the President-elect of Ukraine and allowed a pro-US leader to take control. He immediately allowed the CIA to plunder the country so badly it became obvious he was just a corrupt hack and nobody wanted to vote for him again. This lasted until 2010.
2. In 2013, seeking to recover from the devastation under his predecessor and struggling with the national debt, President Yanukovych took out a loan from Russia which also included refinancing a significant share of his country's debt burden. USAID responded by instigating "Euromaidan" riots, which led to an assault on the legislature; at gunpoint, the legislature voted at gunpoint to extraconstitutionally remove Yanukovych and install Turchynov the Tyrant.
4. Turchynov's tyranny caused the war. He unleashed more riots, ordering police and military to help the rioters to loot. He massacred Odessans. Crimea was annexed by Russia. Many soldiers and police refused to obey orders to kill civilians and defected to the anti-Maidan, resulting in loss of 2 regions and full war in 2.
5. After 3 months, with intense warfare ongoing to retake Donetsk, Turchynov resigned and Poroshenko became President in an arrangement where Poroshenko paid money to the CIA for the position.
6. Poroshenko declared that he didn't need to pay debts to Russia and continued pillaging the Ukraine, signed a ceasefire with the rebels, and implemented many anti-Russian measures, including a "mandatory boycott" of Russian goods. He also established a new state religion, the OCU, which preemptively declared him a living saint.
7. Zelensky was elected on a platform opposing corruption and war with Russia.
8. On February 22, 2022, Joe Biden decided to impose sanctions on Russia for an alleged future military campaign against the Ukraine. With their "punishment" already imposed, Russia had no reason to not invade. As a result, two days later, Russia invaded the Ukraine for:
-A. Refusing to pay their $15B debt--so we sent them $500B and expected repayment.
-B. Violating Poroshenko's ceasefire with the rebels, causing instability and allowing multiple missiles to land in Russian territory, which Zelensky claimed was not intentionally his doing and attempted to blame on Russia, claiming they had actually in fact attacked themselves--so the CIA claimed it was all Russia's doing like Zelensky claimed.
-C. Direct attacks against the Russian Federation, which the US denied.
-D. Destruction of the Ukrainian Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical (NBC) weapons program.
-E. Destruction of the ideological group in the Ukraine which calls for the extermination of all ethnic Russians, including those living on Ukrainian soil.
9. The US decided these were all illegitimate reasons for war and sent $500B expecting to be repaid by a country which wouldn't repay a $15B loan.
